Lauren English Thurman – Owner
Lauren English-Thurman joined the family business in June 2009 as the Director of Operations. Lauren is a 2008 Texas A&M University graduate and earned her master’s in Human Resource Development from TAMU. Lauren is active with Business Networking International and the Greater Hewitt Chamber of Commerce.

Owner’s Name & Brief Bio
Kay English spent more than 30 years in dental and medical administration in Waco, Texas. When her dentist employer retired in 2005, she decided it was time for a new chapter—one where she could help others and improve their lives in a tangible way.
A perfectionist with an eye for detail, Kay launched English Maids from the laundry room of her home. Her methodical approach, commitment to quality, and customer-first mindset quickly elevated English Maids into a leading cleaning service in Central Texas.
While Kay still owns the business, day-to-day operations are now overseen by her daughter, Lauren English Thurman, who has been an integral part of the company for over 15 years.

While studying at Texas A&M University, Lauren began working with her mother part-time at English Maids. After earning her master’s degrees in Human Resource Development from TAMU, she initially worked in corporate HR.

I called Maids and Moore to have a move out clean on the house we sold. They were quick to get back to me, quick to give me an awesome quote and were willing to work with me on the time frame. They quoted me around 69 an hour and we agreed on a 3 hour cleaning window. The woman who was coming to clean called me and gave me a heads up on her eta, she came at the time she had quoted me and explained that she was training two women and it would take a while, but I would still pay what I was quoted. That was fine with me. They took most of the day, which told me she was truly training them and they were being thorough. They did an amazing job and they were so kind! I was shocked at how clean they got the fridge. Never have I been able to get it that clean. They truly exceeded my expectations. I’m truly sad I moved because I wish I had had them do monthly cleanings at my house they are so good. If you’re thinking of having some one come once a week or once a month, give them a call! If you’re moving and need a deep move out clean, they will do an outstanding job! Great customer services, very nice and hardworking employees. Give them a try!!!

English Maids is a fantastic local business that is great at what they do. I have used them a number of times for one time cleanings, and they always do a great job. It's nice that they will custom tailor a cleaning schedule or service based on what I want, and not be tied to what a corporate office requires of them. I've never had any problems or complaints with English Maids, but I know that if I did they would take care of the issue with no questions asked.

We LOVE "Gabbie & Samantha Day" when they come to our house once a month to give it a very thorough cleaning! Their workmanship is always top notch and they also take the time to do the little things that make their work product special, such as folding the end of the toilet paper rolls into triangles; it feels like we come home to a 5 star hotel. Also, they have great quality control and the very few times we have had any issue about the quality of cleaning, they are quick to remedy to our satisfaction. Superior customer service!

We had scheduled another company to do a deep clean on our house right before I was to host my department's annual Christmas party. When they canceled and rescheduled, then failed to show because we "were not on the schedule" that day, English Maids stepped in and accommodated a 2-hour clean (at that point something was better than nothing). The girls did such a fantastic job that my husband and I decided to hire them on a monthly basis. Very professional, accommodating and up front. They do a spectacular job cleaning, taking care of all details from top to bottom. The house smells so fresh when they leave!
